Another great meal! I tried the Holiday Turkey Sandwich: turkey, cranberry chutney and Swiss cheese on cranberry wheat bread with a side of fries (or cottage cheese, if you choose). Delicious! While not what I would consider a "go to" sandwich, it tasted even better than it sounded on the menu. I thought I was wimping out because I was barely half way through the sandwich when I thought that I had hit the wall, but my dining companions, 2 grown men and a teenage boy, who all ordered the half rack of ribs, apparently were feeling it too. The teenager went home with leftovers, which I'm sure he will enjoy just as much tomorrow. I sneaked a taste of my husband's ribs and, I have to say, they were pretty damn good! Thick with meat and not grossly covered with some sickeningly sweet barbecue sauce. Accompanying the ribs were seasoned potato wedges which were pretty darn good in and of themselves! This is a Saturday special, so I may have to get them myself, the next time we stop in. 10/2014/13

What a dump. I used to go to Bosch all the time when my husband and I started dating. Every once in a while we will stop back in. It has been rapidly declining. I used to look forward to their winter specialty drinks, they don't have them any more. During the warmer months I ask for honey jack on the rocks, it never fails I get less than a shot.. I'm not even joking and it's about $9. This place is pretty sad. The inside has such potential to be something really great, instead it's a hodgepodge of paper decor according to the holiday and dust. The food is frozen food isle junk and the staff sucks. There is one bartender in particular who has bleach blond fried out hair and is as rude as anyone I have ever met. She has no idea how to serve alcohol. Be sure to have her just pop beer bottles open for you if you want your monies worth.

The Bosch is another one of those bars that is a go to for me. I have never had a bad experience at the bar. I have eaten and had drinks here several times. I love their martini menu. The Sweet Tart is fantastic! I would recommend this bar for more casual drinking, just because it can get a little pricey for a lot of drinks. Their food has always been very good. They have great sandwiches. I love a large menu but The Bosch has a little bit of a simpler menu, typical bar food, but not greasy and fried. My favorite part is the atmosphere. I love the cozy corner bar feeling of this place. There's usually just one or two bartenders but they are always friendly and give great service. I have never felt like I've had to get someone's attention because they are always on the look out for you. Overall a great spot to grab a drink and some food!

Great beer selection and standard pub food here. Have had the nachos, wings and fish fry on various occasions and all were pleasent.

Maybe I just dont' get this place? The boyfriend and I live SUPER close to this place, so it's convenient, but we don't really enjoy coming here. The good: I love the old bar area and the history of the building. It's also got a pretty sweet beer garden area that looks like it would be a blast during the summer months. The food isn't too bad either, and they usually have pretty decent week night beer and food specials. The bad: The wait staff just aren't that friendly. I've never felt welcome here by any of the waitresses or bartenders and have always felt like a nuisance to them. Not fun. Also, maybe it's just us, but we don't feel like we fit in there. Like, there's some sort of secret club and everyone else in the bar is in it except us. We just don't ever feel welcome by the staff or other patrons when we're here. I'm sure we will make our way back at some point since its so convenient and the food is pretty decent, but we definitely wont go out of our way to stop here.

Descriptive phrase: comfy and classic corner bar. A group of us stopped in to grab a few brews at Bosch Tavern in between a wedding and the reception. What a great choice! We'd wondered what it was like in the large white farm house we pass on Hwy 100 so often. There's parking in back, and a really great patio area between the house and the neighboring building (plus Hammerschlagen!). When we walked in off the wrap-around porch we seemed a bit out of place (dressed nicely in a large group), but they didn't balk at us pulling two of the heavy wooden table together. I don't know if there's a seating area, but the entrance is a large bar with a few games, a few TVs, and a few tables. They featured a respectable amount of interesting beers on tap, especially for what I expected to be a townie bar. $5 for a pint of MKE Outboard, $5.50 for a slightly-larger Optimator. Totally worth it. Comfortable experience, nice staff, friendly atmosphere.

Love it here! Go on a Friday for the fish fry or try one of their burgers! Cowboy burger is topped with an onion ring and barbecue brisket. Love to go and sit outside in the summer!

The big question on Fridays in Wisconsin is "Where should we go for a Fish Fry?" This weeks answer was The Bosch Tavern in Hales Corners. To be honest I have only stopped by for a casual cocktail with friends but never to eat. The entrance sign at the back patio stated they we famous for "Hand-Made Old Fashions and Fish Boils" so I indulged in both. I was pleasantly surprised. My whiskey old fashion was freshly muddled with cherries, bitters and syrup we added olives for that sweet salty taste. The drink was a perfect pour. On to dinner, we were seated in a large room that was still cozy with the warm woodsy paneling on the walls and not to noisy even though it was busy. My friend asked for extra coleslaw and they kindly obliged and did not charge extra (nice perk) and was served with a slice of marble rye bread. The food arrived in a timely manner, hot and delicious. The fish boil consisted of seasoned cod accompanied with Hollandaise sauce (yum) real mashed potatoes and tasty large cuts of carrots ($10.99). The food portion was generous enough to take some home. The hostess and server were both attentive and polite. I will be back. -mjs

I stopped in here for a mid-week date with my partner, and had a great time! The wait staff was friendly and helpful, and a lot of fun to interact with. I got the brisket sandwich, and my partner got the Triple B - both were flavorful and well-executed, in particular the aioli on the burger. The onion rings in particular were crisp on the outside and the onions on the inside were very tender. Our only complaint would be the noise levels from other patrons, which escalated to a hair-raising din by 7 PM at which point carrying on a conversation was impossible.

So, I heard only great things about the friday fish fry here and I was a little disappointed. They give you pretty generous portions for the $10 Friday special but I thought the quality of the fish itself was terrible. It tasted "fishy" (in the bad way) and there were some fish bones still on it. I'm not sure if they order the fish already filleted or if they clean it themselves but I was unimpressed. The beer batter was okay. They don't give you much lemon to squeeze on which was another pet peeve for me since I love drowning my fried fish in lemon juice. The tatar sauce was good and their onion rings we had as an appetizer were really good. Disclaimer: my group had a spilt decision regarding the quality of the fish fry. One person thought it was great, somebody else said it was just a "typical" fish fry. I didn't care for it. But, I'm writing this review so they get 2 stars. Service, eh. I've gone back and forth between this. The waitress was friendly and nice but it felt like she came by our table once a blue moon. As we left, I was pretty unhappy. Since thinking about it, I think she might have been the only waitress working at the time. The atmosphere was really good and cool. They have cool old pictures of the bar from the old-timey days and it's really cool to be in a place with history. The interior of the bar has like an old tin roof that looks like it was from the set of Deadwood. Pretty sure that might be the original bar from when they place was built. They had a good beer selection for your casual beer drinker (Fat Tire, Spotted Cow, Guinness, etc. etc.) If you want a place with 500,000 beers or your underground bizarre Triple IPA craft beer that only you know about because you're a beer snob, then go somewhere else. I was unimpressed Friday night by the fish fry. But, it was a neat place so I want to go back to try their burgers.

This beautiful old building with the wraparound porch always intrigued me during my visits to the Milwaukee area, but my first visit wasn't until a Saturday in May 2014. My wife and I went there with a longtime friend for lunch. The service and food were fine, with reasonable prices, too. My only regret was that I didn't ask if we could eat outside and enjoy the fine Wisconsin spring weather with our meal.

I loved everything, the soup was phenomenal, and, you can get Moose Drool there! , amongst a wide variety of beers; Sandwiches were great, decor is awesome; Service was very efficient. Lotsa positives.

Just finnished an amazing meal here at the Bosch. Not only was the food exceptional, it was only surpassed by the extraordinary service provided by a young lady i believe was named jessica. Jessica was extremely outgoing and gregarious. Couldn't have asked for better service.

Had the fish fry three times now. The first time it was the best fish fry I have ever had. The last two times it was almost inedible. Won't be going back

I've gone here a few times, and have always been happy with my choice. The food is pretty good, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff do a nice job. This is a nice place to catch up with friends, have a few drinks, and eat some pretty good pub food.

What a great place for lunch! We had been apple picking about 10 miles away, and mentioned to the orchard owner that we were in the mood for a good burger. She replied with, "You've got to go to The Bosch," and boy was she right. Two of us got burgers, and one opted for the nachos. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the burger - toppings were plentiful and fresh, and the meat was cooked just as I'd requested. The fries were also amazing - I generally finish my burger (or most of) but only manage to eat a few fries. This time I nearly cleared my plate. I did end up with some of the delicious burger to bring home, too - it was huge. I also snuck a few of my friend's nachos, and WOW were they great! The cheese was perfectly melted (more like queso than some crappy shredded cheddar someone stuck in the microwave) and there were plenty of toppings. As great as my burger was, I might have to go for the nachos next time I'm back. The place itself is really cute - old, comfortable, and some very interesting paintings on the wall. We were in the room with the painting of a hunting picnic... the two guys watching as a dog ripped through their picnic after a rabbit. I'm not sure if this was the artist's intent (I hope it was), but the thing is hilarious! Service was good, too - friendly and quick.

Good burger. I was up for a couple drinks and a burger and I wound up here. Nice place with parking in the rear and out door seating. The messed up the check and when I called them and told them they said don't worry about it. This was a very good deal for the price. $10.00 burger, $5.00 bowl of soup and two spotted cows for under $16.00 can't beat that. Spotted cow on tap but no frosted glasses or any kind of picture for a group of people. The staff was great and attentive. The inside was wood all over and decorated with American pickers type items all over the place. It's like mike and frank backed the van up and they bought everything. The burger was a half pound with two onion rings, grilled onions, bacon, two slices of American cheese on a soft bun. Fry's and a pickle wedge came with the burger. The onion rings were and very crispy, get the onion rings here. The grilled onions were thick and good. The American cheese was perfectly melty. I didn't really notice the bacon because of the other ingredients. In my opinion the bacon was very thin for this burger and a burger like this need a thick bold bacon that stands out more. The Fry's were crispy but thin style. The pickle didn't impress me. Over all this was a good burger and if they would make extra rare I would come here more often. I knew I was in trouble when my waitress had to tell the cook 5 times rare but it was not over cooked but I would have liked it cooked less. Rare just messes people up and I need to start saying extra rare, you can't mess it up so just do it please. Now the 65 year recipe navy bean soup that I took home. It was good but nothing special. Bunzels meat market is the current champ when it comes to navy bean soup, try it and you will see what I mean. Over all this is a nice place for drinks and food and most people will enjoy it. It's nice to have a neighborhood place and not a chain to hang out at. That being said I like it.

I grew up only a few miles from The Bosch and I have frequented it a number of times in this my "so called" lifetime. I never really got up the courage to write a review, but so many people have asked me to I figured I can do it. As for a pub, I like it. Hales Corners only gets so good, but the crown is your usual suburbia 40 something's, with a mix is youth and more seasoned citizens. I do have to give a compliment to the bar staff. I always have felt they were above par. I hold a pretty high standard on a good barkeep too. They have a lot of fancy beers on tap, so if you are into thinking that's cool, you may have a great time. They reason I finally decided to Yelp out my feelings for this place is because the Navy bean soup is that damn good. It reminds me of the very Senate Navy bean soup that has been served at the senate restaurant every day for over the last 100 years. Those of you who know me know I like a good soup too. There whole menu is legit, and the specials are good. Popular fish fry too. I always thought of it as a warm winter bar, but they opened up a big patio too. That might be neat if it ever is nice outside.

Currently sitting at the bar with an empty drink for 12 minutes while the bartender sits on a bar stool playing on her phone. I asked her a few questions about the bar and I got short answers like I was being an inconvenience to her. Mind you, I am the ONLY customer here!

Went here on a Saturday evening just before 5pm. Had never been here but stopped on a whim. Apparently Saturday is Smoked Rib night but the waitress never actually mentioned that. Overall the food was decent and the atmosphere was nice. Nothing Id go out of my way for though

I went to the Bosch on a Sunday afternoon after my wedding. It was a very small wedding so the people we couldn't invite we asked them to join us there. There was never more than 30 of us and we were all spread out between the tables. There was never over 8 people up at the bar from my party ever. We also called in the morning to tell them to expect a group of people in the afternoon. Our server took care of the majority of us and did an excellent job. The bartender KATIE on the other hand was ridiculous. She was rude and made my guests wait over 15 minutes to even order their drinks. We were not rude drunk or obnoxious at all as it was early in the day and prior to going there we were at my church. I remember everything as I was not drinking at all. There were 5 people up at the bar from my party. KATIE was rude and poured incorrect drinks and snapped at my guests because she was annoyed we were there. I confronted her and said I will have my whole party go through the server if you treat us like this. She rep[lied that we were not the only ones in the bar. There were less than 5 tables in the restaurant before us and only about 10 people up at the bar. We were not expecting them to drop everyone else and take care of us. I asked her if she could be nicer to my guests and she rolled her eyes at me and said that she didn't know we were coming in. I told her that it didn't matter if she knew or not her behavior wax unacceptable so I asked her name in which she again rolled her eyes at me and replied KATIE in the most disgusted way she possibly could. We left because everyone hated being there and I was sure to speak with a manager at a later date. It has been 3 weeks since my wedding. I have called twice to speak with a manager and apparently there are never any there day or night. I left my name and number for one to call me back. I never got a response. I am sickened by the way I was treated on my wedding day and know that they lost a lot respect that day from many patrons who will not be returning to their bar.

I have been to this bar/ restaurant twice and both times have been great experiences. The first time we came on a weeknight and they had a deal on wings which were very good. The second time I came for a drink with friends and this was on a Friday the place was packed and every one was having a good time. They also have a patio if you need some space. But if you like the action definitely a great place to go after work on Friday.

I stopped in here on a Monday evening with two family members. The atmosphere was right up my alley. Old hardwood floors, rustic decor, friendly customers, and friendlier employees. I had the Cowboy Up Burger, and can honestly say its the best burger of I've ever eaten. Drinks were well-made and reasonably priced. Service was fast. Waitress was attentive without being annoying. I will go back, and probably become a regular.

The Bosch as it is affectionately known in Hales Corners is a historic bar and grill. The food is good. Service is timely. But if you want the corner bar feel out in the suburbs it is perfect for that. The burger is above average but most of all you will just have a great time because the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately the music playing today was dance hits but that is not typical. It's just a good all around experience. And in a burb where copy n paste restaurants and bar chains overload the scene, The Bosch is a really fresh change of peace. The fireplace in the back dining room tops off a very cozy feel to the bar. Be careful you might just be tempted to chat with the stranger next to you as if you both lived in the same small town and just hadn't met yet. Al in the middle of the burbs.

Used to come here once a week after work with my bf who lived right down the street. This is not a fine dining establishment by any means. The Bosch is a place you come to for drinks and pool or to hang out. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, the stiff drinks and bar food.

We go to Bosch on a regular basis during the week. Bosch has great specials during the week such as buy one get one 1/2 off appetizers, wings (Tuesdays / Thursdays), and other great food specials. Their side salads are fresh, inexpensive, and a good accompaniment to the specials. The service is usually very good and attentive. We like the laid back atmosphere. Ladies, bring a jacket during the summer as the air conditioning can be a little strong. There are plenty of TVs to watch a game, and you can usually see the Brewers. The big round tables are great for playing cards with a group of friends.

Friday Fish Fry: $9.99 Fish Fry dinner with 3 average sizes of Haddock, Fries (baked potato or mashed potato), and Fries. When I got the plate I didn't think it would be enough to fill me up. I was correct. I had an extra piece from my wife's plate. The first piece of fish was tasty but as more as I got into it the food was very bland. Tartar sauce and salt could not save it.

Off street parking, beer garden, and a smoke shack. Nice casual atmosphere, the decor makes you feel like you're at a lodge up north. We've been here a few times and have been pleased with the food and service. They have a decent beer selection, good burgers and sandwiches, but do yourself a favor and ask about the specials if they don't mention them. On our last visit I got a smoked pork belly sandwich that was a Saturday lunch special. It was a thicker BLT basically, so it took a little more effort to chew, but it was worth it. It was a late lunch for us, and I regret not going a little later because I totally forgot about the smoked ribs (Saturday special after 5 pm) and they are damn good! Their ribs are some of the best I've had. Thick, meaty tender deliciousness. They don't cover them up with a thick sugary sauce. Nope! They use a dry rub and smoke them for hours. So good. I first heard about these ribs a while back after I put an order in for a burger. Good burger, but I would have gotten the ribs had I known. Somehow I missed it. Like I said, it's a Saturday dinner special, and from what I hear they always run out so if you want them don't get down there too late.

We have been here twice now and they were even busier last night. We had a great waitress and I noticed they all seemed to help each other out too. I had popcorn shrimp and a ceaser salad. They were both delicious. My drink was great too. My husband tried the brisket sandwich and he said it was some thet best he's had around Milwaukee. His beer was ice cold which was another bonus. Great location and lots of outdoor seating if the weather permits. Give it a try!

This place has captured the unique vibe of townie bar meets high quality restaurant ! One of the best patios I have seen in Wisconsin . They have seating for couples and big parties . They have a outside beer garden they open up for special events . They do serve to you out there every day . I was very pleased and impressed by my experience . It was a overcast , on and off drizzle kind of day. They were still accommodating and let us sit outside . We got got the wings and fish fry . I usually don't get a dry rub wing , but I'm glad I did . Their fish fry is also my new favorite . The batter almost has a sweet hint to it . The coleslaw has dill in it , which is also a refreshing twist . Our waiter was super sweet and brought us a extra ranch without us even asking her to ! It was my first time here but I feel like it's going to be a regular go to place !

The waitstaff was friendly, attentive and welcoming. The restaurant appeared clean and had interesting nostalgia decor to keep interest. The expansive interior had smaller intimate nooks to nestle into for a meal and conversation. I tried the fish fry with a salad and nibbled my guest's baked potato. The salad dressing seemed thin, certainly from a jar. By the time I finished the generously-sized but unimaginative green salad-which was delivered at the same time as the main course-the batter on the fish lost its crispness. The fish was ok but slightly chewy, a sign of overcooking. I was disappointed every side came in little plastic disposable cups; the cole slaw (right off the Sysco pallet), salad dressing, sour cream, all were reminders of landfill waste. The setting and service made up for the mediocre fish fry. We sat inside but the outdoor seating area looked fun.

Here's another one of those places that I ask myself "why haven't I ever been here before?" It's located conveniently on the corner of Janesville & Hwy 100, been there "forever" and I've never stopped in... until recently and am I glad I did. What a great place. The decor is warm and inviting, the staff is friendly and selection of beers is awesome. Within one week I returned. I was there for lunch and the food was fantastic. We had a french dip and a burger special. Lots of food for the price. Returned on a Wednesday and brought a different friend and we had appetizers and drinks. Wednesday has an appetizer special (didn't know that but it was a bonus) One of my new favorites. Now I have to go back to try the fish fry everyone raves about. I will update my review then.

Good service, good atmosphere, good drinks. Didn't get to try any food as kitchen closes after 10pm. But I've heard all good things, will be back to try some.

Please do parents a favor and add some fruit, or a juice drink to the $5 dollar children's menu. Beer is also slightly warm.

Just finnished an amazing meal here at the Bosch. Not only was the food exceptional, it was only surpassed by the extraordinary service provided by a young lady i believe was named jessica. Jessica was extremely outgoing and gregarious. Couldn't have asked for better service.

Always great food & reasonable prices. Not a huge menu, which is great. I usually opt for a Burger & have never been disappointed. Order the 'Ricks Taters' if they have them.
